“Ohio Senate passes bill limiting health director’s power”

“COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — With a 20-12 vote, the Ohio Senate has passed Senate Bill 311, which limits the powers of the state’s health director. SB 311 would prohibit the Ohio Department of Health from issuing a general, mandatory statewide or regional quarantine order for Ohioans who have not been medically diagnosed with, or directly exposed to COVID-19. The bill also authorizes the General Assembly to rescind certain ODH orders regarding preventing the spread of contagious or infectious diseases.”
