“HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) and 29 co-sponsors are again calling for the impeachment of Gov. Tom Wolf.
The group has introduced legislation which included five articles of impeachment for “for misbehavior in office,” saying Wolf did not have authority to issue business lockdowns and stay-at-home orders; pointing to an “arbitrary and capricious” reopening process; failure to appropriately staff and administer unemployment compensation offices; failure to direct the Department of Health to develop and implement a comprehensive plan to protect residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities; and withholding critical information from the public, press and General Assembly regarding issues pertaining to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“On Friday, the governor issued the fourth renewal of his 90-day COVID-19 Disaster Emergency Declaration. Even though these proclamations are by definition temporary, the governor is once again abusing his emergency powers to wreak havoc on millions of Commonwealth citizens that have already been crushed by his unconstitutional business lockdown and stay-at-home orders,” Metcalfe said in a news release.”
“Impeaching Thomas W. Wolf, Governor of Pennsylvania, for misbehavior in office.”
