Wyoming pauses federal EV charging station buildout

JDfor2024.com  | The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program to build electric vehicle charging stations was put on hold in Wyoming after the state saw problems on the horizon if the stations were unprofitable.

The legislature’s research showed that it could be 20 years before the stations would be profitable. The federal government would fund the program for 5 years after which time the station would be on its own and the state could end up with the bill and abandoned stations.

The marketing for EV’s does not include the reality of the impact on the environment, the increased demand for resources, and the energy needed to power the necessary infrastructure.
