Washington’s War in Ukraine Lacks Public Support

“Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders…”  — Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

As Washington continues to escalate proxy war with Russia,  American public support for Zelensky’s endless war and NATO expansion is virtually non-existent. What’s needed is a cease fire and immediate diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the conflict. -JD

Analysis on Ukraine Situation by Retired US Army Col

Retired US Army Colonel and former Pentagon senior advisor Douglas Macgregor, provides insight on the military situation in Ukraine and recent calls for diplomacy by top US General Mark Milley. Sobering discussion on reality of the conflict and forward strategy. -JD

Retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor on the World War III scare in Poland and the reported Pentagon-State Department split over Ukraine-Russia peace.

After accusing Russia of firing missiles into Poland — and triggering calls from Ukraine for direct NATO military intervention — US officials are now acknowledging that Ukrainian air defenses were likely responsible.

Douglas Macgregor, a retired Army Colonel and former senior Pentagon adviser, says the Poland scare underscores why the US top military officer, Gen. Mark Milley, has split from White House bureaucrats to call for diplomacy with Russia in order to end the Ukraine war.

Guest: Douglas Macgregor. Retired US Army Colonel and former Pentagon senior advisor.

RETRACTED: Congress Members Urge Peace Settlement in Ukraine

Updated  | Less than 24 hours after calling for a policy change in Ukraine, progressive leaders in Congress formally retracted their call for diplomacy to end the conflict. -JD

October 24, 2022 | Progressive Congress Members wrote a letter to Biden calling for a dramatic shift in policy with regard to the Ukraine situation.

Their remarks concluded with, “we urge you to make vigorous diplomatic efforts in support of a negotiated settlement and ceasefire, engage in direct talks with Russia, explore prospects for a new European security arrangement acceptable to all parties that will allow for a sovereign and independent Ukraine, and, in coordination with our Ukrainian partners, seek a rapid end to the conflict and reiterate this goal as America’s chief priority.”

This is a critical change in direction.

DEMAND Congress STOP funding war and START negotiating for peace. -JD

“..as legislators responsible for the expenditure of tens of billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars in military assistance in the conflict, we believe such involvement in this war also creates responsibility for the United States to seriously explore all possible avenues, including direct engagement with Russia, to reduce harm and support Ukraine in achieving a peaceful settlement.”
